25 Best Upcoming Winter 2014 Releases

The next couple months during the winter season are packed with anticipated releases and we highlight 25 of the best you probably want to keep an eye on. For Jordan heads, you can be on the lookout for new colorways of the Jordan X, but most likely the retro release of the white/infrared VI will be the most coveted over the next few weeks before spring. The calendar is also packed with Nike Kobe “Prelude” releases all leading up to the debut of the Kobe 9 Elite “Masterpiece” drop in February. On the trainer side, you can be on the lookout for new Asics and Puma releases, and although not featured, we bet a few will have their eye on the Reebok Kamikaze 1 retro as well. Feel free to take a look and let us know in the comments section below which release you are most looking forward to for January/February!

Nike Air Max Lunar90

Release Date: 1/3/2014

Speaking of combining the old with the new, Nike killed it by sneaking this “new” silo juuusst before the close of 2013, slapping their plush Lunarlon tech and lightweight Hyperfuse on the iconic Infrared Air Max 90. Some love it, some hate it…a paradox that is no stranger to Nike. Today, January 3rd, brings us more colorways, including a black/dark grey-volt joint and the boys at the Swoosh promise more will be on the way shortly thereafter. This is going to be fun.

Jordan Melo 1.5 Black/University Blue

Release Date: 1/4/2014

Carmelo Anthony’s first signature shoe is back for its first retro run. Kicking things off is the original ‘Nubuck’ colorway. Previously a limited release, this time they will be a GR available in full family sizing so if you wanted them before and couldn’t get them, here’s a second chance.

Nike Kobe IV and V "Prelude"

Release Date: 1/4/2014

Many were upset by the last-minute delay of the release of the Kobe IV Prelude. But, those who are disappointed will now have the chance to double down, as the release of the IV has been bumped to coincide with the release of the next installment in the series, the Kobe V. With both pairs now scheduled to drop on the 4th of January, Saturday’s double dip will mark the halfway point of the retrospective series. And, with the Kobe V Prelude, it looks to bring a splash of color and that low-cut look we’ve become so familiar with, back to the series.

Jordan Melo M10 Dark Powder Blue/Team Orange

Release Date: 1/4/2014

The Melo M10 has been teased on the sneaker blog circuit for months now. And, come January 4th, we’ll finally have a chance to pick it up and test it out for ourselves. Jordan Brand brought out the big guns for Melo’s 10th signature (the final year on his JB deal) and had the legendary Tinker Hatfield help design the M10. The second colorway looks strong, but look for many more from the M10 in 2014.

Extra Butter x ASICS GT-Cool "Sidewinder"

Release Date: 1/4/2014

NYC’s Extra Butter continues it’s banging Death List 5 collaborative series with Asics with the “Sidewinder” iteration of the GT-Cool silhouette. Lost in the hype for all things Gel-Lyte, the GT-Cool is on fire with this awesome colorway. Combining dark denim, snakeskin striping, and a mellow Hawaiian print, this may just be the best entry in the DL5 series to-date. These beauties are slated to drop January 4th in-store, with an online release following two days later, on the 6th.

Premier x Nike SB Dunk High SE "Petoskey"

Release Date: 1/4/2014

Premier stays putting in work with Nike SB. And, after a couple dope collaborations, they have another gem cooked up with the Dunk Hi “Petoskey.” Dropping in-store and online on January 4th, Premier’s latest is all about the details. That smooth icy outsole pairs beautifully with the black and grey winterized upper and 3M laces. A closer look also reveals a subtle, but clean Petoskey stone print highlighting the collar and insoles. THIS is how you do an SB collab.

Nike Kobe VI "Prelude"

Release Date: 1/11/2014

The sixth installation of the Kobe Prelude pack continues the low top phase, brought on by the Kobe V, but brings the heat by adding Mamba’s iconic snake scales. Topped off by a fantastic graffiti print inspired by Los Angeles’ Venice Beach courts, the Kobe VI Prelude is a banger. Look for these babies to drop on January 11th.

Nike Air Tech Challenge Huarache

Release Date: 1/11/2014

We’re pumped on this release. Teased for months, the Swoosh boys are finally bringing back that Agassi swag with two colorways of the Nike Air Tech Challenge Huarache. One, dropping in black/purple/orange is perfect for those Phoenix Suns fans out there. And the other, the Tour Yellow pair, are straight fire. While there has been positives and negatives about brands bringing back various classic silhouettes from the 90s, we think we can all agree that bringing back a tennis icon like this is a no-brainer.

Air Jordan 10 Retro "Bobcats"

Release Date: 1/11/2014

This season is the final year of the Charlotte Bobcats as they will become the Hornets once again. To go with their new uniforms, Jordan Brand cooked up this colorway of the Air Jordan 10 Retro. Complete with a full translucent outsole for an added touch of flavor.

Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze Lite "Coat of Arms"

Release Date: 1/16/2014

While complete details are a bit unknown, Ronnie Fieg is set to release his latest collab with Puma on the Disc Blaze Lite model with a two-colorway pack dubbed “Coat of Arms” via a Kith pop-up shop in Paris…pretty major. While we can only hope these will see a release in the US sometime in the month of January or February, in the meantime, it might be best to make some new friends who call the French capital home.

Nike Air Up '14 "Orlando"

Release Date: 1/18/2014

Another classic Nike Basketball shoe from the ’90s makes its way out of the vault and back to the courts. This “Orlando” edition is the first retro set to release, a must for any Penny fan.

Nike Kobe VII "Prelude"

Release Date: 1/18/2014

Inspired by Kobe and Team USA’s dominance in the Gold Medal game of the 2012 Olympics in London, the Kobe VII Prelude comes correct by donning a gold heel clip. With an upper draped in a classic cubism print, the Kobe VII Prelude, due out January 18th, is looking proper.

Air Jordan III "Powder Blue"

Release Date: 1/18/2014

Anytime a silhouette as iconic as the Air Jordan III gets a new colorway, it’s newsworthy. But, when Jordan Brand decides to go big and hit up the silo with MJ’s iconic UNC-flavoring, you know it’s gonna be big time. Officially called the “Powder Blue,” these beautiful IIIs will no doubt bring on comparisons to His Airness’ days with UNC. If you want to get your hands on these, circle January 18th on your calendar and plan accordingly.

Nike LeBron XI "Graffiti"

Release Date: 1/25/2014

Nike Basketball has brought back the ‘Graffiti’ design for the LeBron 11. Famously featured on the ‘NYC’ LeBron VI, this follow-up looks just as nice as the first. Sporting a black-based upper with a white graffiti design throughout finished off by red accents. Don’t worry, these won’t be limited to NYC either, they will be available worldwide and, in full family sizing too.

Air Jordan X Cool Grey/Infrared

Release Date: 1/25/2014

Though many sneakerheads will cop the Air Jordan X Cool Grey/Infrared because of it’s uncanny resemblance to the OG “Stealth” X, this is actually a new colorway. We at Kicks Deals have always said that the X is a criminally underrated silhouette, but building off the strength of the recent “Steel” X retro, 2014 is looking strong for the X. Look for these to drop in late January on the 25th.

Nike Kobe VIII "Prelude"

Release Date: 1/25/2014

Neon meets chrome on the final installation of the Kobe Prelude pack, the Kobe VIII. The final “Prelude” release in the series is also it’s loudest, with that banging iridescent upper. The Kobe VIII Prelude looks to close out the pack on January 25th, leading the way for the introduction to the Mamba’s newest silhouette, the Kobe 9.

Nike/Jordan Brand BHM Releases

Release Date: January/February 2014

Much like NBA All-Star weekend, Nike and Jordan Brand will be celebrating Black History Month 2014 with a few special editions of some of their popular models. We’ve seen the LeBron 11, but what else will be in store for us?

BAIT x Asics Gel Lyte III "Basics Model-002 Guardian"

Release Date: January 2014

Continuing their strong bond with Asics, So Cal’s BAIT is dropping bombs yet again with the Gel Lyte III “Basics Model-002 Guardian” release. The next installation of BAIT’s “Basics Model” series builds on the shop’s strong foundation with this beautiful GLIII. Sporting a dope olive and black upper, the shoe really pops off with a speckled midsole and bright orange outsole. Though there isn’t a concrete release date yet, look for this dope collab to hit sometime in January.

mita sneakers x SBTG x New Balance MRT580SM

Release Date: January 2014

Mita, SBTG and New Balance. Just hearing those three names mentioned in the same sentence is enough to give sneaker fiends the withdrawals. This time, the infamous sneaker customizer SBTG unites with Japanese brand mita to hit up New Balance’s MT580 silhouette. The result is this dope black, neon and tiger camo banger. Though it’s still only being teased, word is that this collab is still on track to drop sometime in January…despite how difficult it may be for stateside sneakerheads to cop.

PUMA MMQ Leather Disc Cage 'Grey'

Release Date: 2/1/2014

Puma steps up their game with this banging MMQ Disc Cage “Cork” colorway. Already having dropped two other colorways in this pack, one in a deep-red Chili and the other a Dachshund brown, Puma saved the best (in our opinion) for last with the ‘Grey’ colorway. Even if it looks more like a black to us, the gumsole and cork accents make this shoe bang. The Puma Disc has always been a love it or leave it silhouette, and we’re loving these.

Nike Kobe 9 Elite "Masterpiece"

Release Date: 2/8/2014

It’s been a long road to the Nike Kobe 9, and with more colorways dropped on the Kobe 8 than almost any other hoops silhouette Nike’s ever made, the Kobe 9 Elite has some seriously big shoes to fill. February’s debut, scheduled for the 8th, will continue the chatter that started back when the Kobe 9 Elite “Masterpiece” (and subsequent Prelude Pack) were announced. It’s an unconventional, technologically advanced head-turner, a “Masterpiece” as it were.

Nike/Jordan Brand All-Star Releases

Release Date: February 2014

NBA All-Star weekend 2014 is right around the corner and it’s definitely one of the biggest weekend’s in the sneaker game of the year. What will these brands be cooking up for the events? Only time will tell.

Air Jordan 6 "Infrared"

Release Date: 2/15/2014

The return of a legened as iconic as the Air Jordan VI “Infrared” is always a welcome one, and come February 15th, Jordan Brand will be dominating once again (if their preceding 2014 drops hadn’t already done the job). The first significant Jordan retro of the new year, as with all JB icons of this magnitude, will certainly be a tough one to cop at retail, but this one is simply a classic must-cop.

Nike Flyknit Chukka Trainer FSB

Release Date: February 2014

Though the Nike Flyknit Chukka Trainer FSB doesn’t have an exact release date yet, you best believe we’ve got this one on our radar. We absolutely love the Flyknit Chukka, and this winterized version is hot-fire. Sporting a black, 3M-woven upper, and a neon-speckled trail-ready outsole, and USA-friendly insoles, you’ll catch these on the feet of many US athletes at the upcoming Winter Olympics. The FSB Flyknit Chukka is slated to hit NSW accounts sometime in February.

Air Jordan 10 "Powder Blue"

Release Date: 2/22/2014

Our friends at Jordan Brand continue to kill our credit limit in the month of February, not just with the Infrared VI, but also by re-issuing the Air Jordan X “Powder Blue” for the first time. With the retro of the “Powder Blue” X, one week after the Infrared VI on February 22, this begs the obvious question…what about the rest of the Xs from the City Series?!
