The 30 Best Upcoming Spring 2014 Releases

Spring is officially here and to make sure you’re aware of what’s coming next, we highlight 30 of the best releases set to drop. You already know Nike and Jordan Brand will be bringing the heat as the temperatures warm up, but there are also releases from both adidas and Saucony that plenty will be after as soon as tomorrow. We concentrated on the official time frame for the spring season which goes until 6/21 for this list and with new releases being announced all the time, we’re sure there will be quite a few more not highlighted that many will be looking to grab. Take a look, take note and feel free to let us know in the comments section below which release or two you will definitely be going after!

Nike Air Raid

Release Date: 3/29/2014

Retro is certainly an appropriate term for the comeback of the Nike Air Raid. And though the comeback colorway is a clean and simple black/flint grey-white makeup, we’re holding out hope the wild PEACE editions are on their way back soon as well.

Nike Kobe 9 EM "Bruce Lee"

Release Date: 3/29/2014

The Kobe 9 Elite has been many things, and a conversation-starter especially. Love ’em or hate ’em, when they dropped, all anyone heard was “can’t wait for a low-top version.” Well, the low-cut Engineered Mesh (EM) version will soon be up for grabs. We’re still hoping for a version with a Flyknit upper, but for the time being, these dope Bruce Lee-flavored joints will certainly make due.

Air Jordan 5Lab3

Release Date: 3/29/2014

Jordan Brand keeps the ‘flash’ coming with it’s latest 5Lab3. With a wild 3M upper, in addition to a surprisingly high price tag, these will certainly generate some buzz when they hit limited retail on the 29th.

Premier x Saucony Shadow 6000 “Life on Mars” Pack

Release Date: 3/29/2014

A few heads may be on the fence about all the Saucony collabs that have been going down over the past few years. Well, Grand Rapids-based shop Premier is here to make that decision much easier with this dope collaborative pack. Hitting up the Shadow 6000 with some clean suede and even keeled color blocking, these are going to be tough to ignore and will be sold separately as a heads up.

adidas ZX Flux

Release Date: 3/29/2014

Oooh baby, does adidas have a head of steam in 2014. With scene-shifting collabs from the likes of Pharrell and Kanye West on the horizon, the three stripes have everyone hyped and looking for actual product. Well, piggybacking on their fantastic celebration of the Stan Smith this year, adidas has a winner on their hands with the new ZX Flux. Already dubbed this year’s Roshe, the Flux has already dropped several colorways that sold out with the quickness. A modern, minimalistic silo matched with top-notch colorways and a great retail price, the ZX Flux is going to make waves in the coming months. Keep your eyes peeled…

Nike Air Max Plus

Release Date: Now (International); hopefully April/May/June 2014 in US

Now that Nike’s got everyone talking about Air Max again, expect to see some retros breaking out shortly. One of our favorites, the Air Max Plus, has already dropped internationally. And, with some of our favorite colorways (like this dope “Inverted OG” pack), we’ve got our fingers crossed that some clean iterations just like these drop stateside very soon.

Nike Air Max 98

Release Date: Available Now at Select Retailers; April/May 2014

And don’t forget about the Air Max 98! Like the Air Max Plus, one of the more underrated silhouettes from the Air Max line, the 98 has already made it’s return across the pond and now just very recently at select US retailers. Hopefully this colorway will be widespread and available at many more locations very soon!

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit

Release Date: 4/3/2014

If you haven’t been paying close attention, Nike’s Free technology is now already a decade old. With that in mind, and Nike’s new hit technology with Flyknit, it was only a matter of time until the two combined to create what will be the Free 4.0 Flyknit trainer. Coming soon to a gym near you.

Ewing Center Retro “Knicks”

Release Date: 4/4/2014

Last year wasn’t just a fluke for Ewing Athletics and 2014 is looking right already with the return of the Ewing Center retro in this dope “Knicks” colorway. While the Knicks may not be making much noise in the NBA post-season this year, fans of the colorway will certainly have their kicks on point. Look for these to drop in early April.

Air Jordan IX "Barons"

Release Date: 4/5/2014

Though many of us MJ aficionados prefer to pretend that his baseball career never existed, Jordan Brand is making repressing those memories a lot tougher with these dope Air Jordan IXs.

Air Jordan I "Barons"

Release Date: 4/5/2014

And what would a new Jordan Brand theme be without using the iconic Air Jordan I High as a base? These Is are fire.

Nike Air Bakin

Release Date: 4/5/2014

Oh, these are a throwback. Seen on the feet of many of our favorite late-90s NBA stars, the Air Bakin returns this spring in the fantastic OG black/red colorway, last seen on the legendary Tim Hardaway.

Nike Basketball Elite & Elite "Hero" Collection

Release Date: 4/11/2014 and 5/9/2014 (Hero)

We all know that Nike drops their “Elite” collection of signature hoops shoes right around the time the NBA playoff chase starts to heat up, and this year will be no different. Only this time, we’ve already seen the announcement of two different sets of Elites, and rumors of more to come. While the price tag may present a significant barrier of entry, the Elite series (both April’s Elite “Team” and May’s “Hero” collections) are looking proper.

Air Jordan II "Cement"

Release Date: 4/12/2014

Often left out of all the retro fun, the Air Jordan II is making it’s way back into the hearts and closets of sneakerheads everywhere this spring. First up is this dope new “Cement” colorway. The OGs may cringe a little, but these have been growing on us every time we see new pics pop up.

Reebok Insta Pump Fury Collabs

Release Date: 3/31/2014 (Garbstore; International at least) and 4/12/2014 (Sneaker Politics)

One of the many sneakers celebrating an anniversary in 2014 is the Reebok Insta Pump Fury. Ringing in it’s 20th birthday with a series of collaborations, the Insta Pump Fury has been an extremely hot sneaker the past few months…and, as we move into spring, it’s only getting hotter. Though some upcoming collabs, like the one from CNCPTS, have only been teased so far, we know there is some heat coming down the pipes in the next few months. In particular though, we absolutely love the 20th anniversary Insta Pump Fury collabs from both Garbstore and Sneaker Politics dropping soon. Don’t sleep on these.

Nike Air Max 1 FB Premium QS "Mercurial" Pack

Release Date: 4/12/2014

Oh you thought Air Max Day was just in March? Well you better come correct, because Nike ain’t letting you forget. Mid-April will see the drop of the Easter-themed Quickstrike release of the Air Max 1 “Mercurial” pack. The colorways may not be for everyone…but isn’t that what makes them special?

Anteater x Saucony Jazz Original “Sea & Sand”

Release Date: 4/1/2014 (International); hopefully April 2014 in US

Premier won’t be the only brand bringing the heat with their dope Saucony collabs. Russian streetwear brand Anteater has cooked up a fantastic look for the Saucony Jazz Original, dubbed the “Sea & Sand.” With that familiar color blocking on the toe box, paired with a super clean gum sole, these are going to be a perfect stunt pair for the upcoming spring/summer months.

Nike LeBron 11 Low "Easter"

Release Date: 4/18/2014

Yeah, you probably already know what it is. Releasing alongside the other Nike Easter releases, the Lebron XI Low marks the first retail appearance of LBJ’s eleventh signature. With that nice white upper offset by sweet mint green paisley hits, these are certainly the standout pair from the Swoosh’s Easter pack.

Nike Foamposite Pro "Yeezy"

Release Date: 4/19/2014

“Yeezys,” “Blinks,” whatever you want to call them, the inspiration for the most talked-about Foamposite release of the year is undeniable. These are gonna be tough, and pricey to get a hold of…but they are pretty awesome.

Air Jordan XI Low "Green Snakeskin"

Release Date: 4/19/2014

Welp, they’re not the snakeskins that everyone REALLY wants, but let’s be real…these are going to pop at retail anyway. Though lineups for these beauties will certainly start days ahead, the retail drop of the first Air Jordan XI Low of the year is officially April 19. Mark your calendar.

Air Jordan XI Low GS "Aqua Safari"

Release Date: 4/19/2014

While most of the die-hards will likely be targeting the “Green Snakeskin” Lows on April 19th, ladies and small-footers can rejoice too, as they’re getting these awesome “Aqua Safari” XI Lows on the same day. If JB only made these in men’s sizes…

Jordan Flight Runner

Release Date: 5/1/2014

With the rising popularity of running shoes in the US sneaker market, this seems like a no-brainer. But starting in May, Jordan Brand is coming after running enthusiasts full force with the Jordan Flight Runner. It’s first foray into running shoes, expect to see a lot of the Flight Runner in the coming months.

Air Jordan XI Low "Concord"

Release Date: 5/3/2014

Yup, they’re real, and yes, they’re really hitting retail. Seen on His Airness’ feet a few months back, the interwebs were abuzz with rumors and speculation. We’ll have to wait until May 5th to get our hands on them…but oh baby, these “Concord” Air Jordan XI Lows are neck-breakers.

Air Jordan VI "Carmine"

Release Date: 5/24/2014

One of the most popular colorways of the Air Jordan VI, the “Carmine,” is finally coming back, and it’s not in a CDP this time! Prior to 2008’s Countdown Pack, which paired the fan-favorite VIs with the not-nearly-as-popular Air Jordan XVII, these OG gems hadn’t seen retail since their original debut back in 1991. These are gonna be hot!

Air Jordan I "Carmine"

Release Date: 5/24/2014

Similar to April’s Air Jordan “Barons” pack, JB is also bringing the Carmine colorway to the Air Jordan I High. Though they’ll no doubt be overshadowed by the popularity of the VI, these Is are killer, and they’re going to be a nice consolation prize for those of us who’ll inevitably strike out with the VI.

Nike LeBron 11 Low "Dunkman"

Release Date: 5/30/2014

The Dunkman makeup is just one of the many great colorways the LeBron line has brought us over the years. Traditionally a mainstay of the hightop silo, this year, the “Dunkman” colorway makes it’s debut on the Nike LeBron XI Low. We like-y.

Air Jordan II White/Red

Release Date: 6/7/2014

Last seen paired with the AJ XXI in 2008’s Countdown pack, another OG Air Jordan will be making it’s way back to retail in 2014. This time, it’s the classic white/red Air Jordan II. This classic really brings back the memories. Insta-cop.

Air Jordan XI Low "Space Jam"

Release Date: 6/14/2014

With the success the Air Jordan XI Low has seen, particularly over the past 2-3 years, it’s no surprise that Jordan Brand is going in on the silhouette this year. With dope new colorways like the “Green Snakeskin” and “Aqua Safari”, along with the familiar feel of May’s “Concord” drop, 2014 was looking great for the XI Low. But, prepare yourself. When the “Space Jam” XI Low hits in early June, it’s going DOWN. JB dropping a stunner just in time for summer.

Etonic Akeem The Dream White/Red

Release Date: 6/15/2014

Though official information is scarce at the moment, one of the next major basketball signatures to get the retro treatment will be the fantastic Etonic “Hakeem the Dream”, in all it’s OG Houston Rockets white/red glory. This throwback is going to be great.

Nike LeBron XI "South Beach"

Release Date: 6/21/2014

Arguably the most hyped colorway the LeBron line ever produced will make it’s 2014 debut on the final day of spring, with the LeBron XI “South Beach.” You already know this one is going to sell out quickly. So those of you with sneaker connects should start buttering them up NOW, so you’ll be in good by the time these babies hit retail on 6/21.

Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte V "Cove" & "Mint Leaf"

Release Date: Spring 2014

While an official release date has not been set just yet, with the recent stream of teaser shots for both the “Cove” and “Mint Leaf” colorways of Ronnie Fieg’s Asics Gel Lyte Vs, we can only guess, and hope, that these will be available this spring. For the lucky few who will be able to get their hands on either pair, we’re sure these will be a spring/summer staple for 2014 and likely a favorite for many all year.
