20 Forgotten Jordans NBA Players Should Wear During The Playoffs

The 2014 NBA Playoffs are fast approaching and we pick out 20 Jordans you may have forgotten about we think players should lace up during the stretch run. A couple of individuals highlighted are definitely battling for the eighth and final playoff spot in each respective conference, but we focused our attention on teams who are obviously already in the playoffs or have a great shot to make it. In taking a look at this list, please feel free to let us know in the comments section below which forgotten Jordan you would like to see worn in the playoffs that would match-up well with a specific team.

Air Jordan XII Retro White/French Blue

Player: Blake Griffin
Team: Los Angeles Clippers

What more can you say? The blue might be a bit off, but the small hits of red help to bring this pair together and would like nice on the feet of Griffin.

Air Jordan 7 Retro Women's White/Maize-Black

Player: Russell Westbrook
Team: Oklahoma City Thunder

Even though these were released in women’s sizes, you cannot deny that this is a great colorway and one many guys wanted as well. As a result, we thought they would look nice on the feet of Westbrook with his Thunder uniform.

Air Jordan XV White/Red

Player: Chris Paul
Team: Los Angeles Clippers

An often forgotten and rare colorway of the Air Jordan XV would be a great choice for Chris Paul to rock with his Clippers jersey. Simple and clean, white and red…perfect.

Air Jordan VII Retro 'Citrus'

Player: Ray Allen
Team: Miami Heat

Eddie Jones wore a PE version of theses when they originally dropped in 2006. So, why not hook Ray Allen up with a pair to wear on court?! Still a perfect match.

Air Jordan XX3 "Chicago"

Player: D.J. Augustin
Team: Chicago Bulls

What better to go with a Chicago Bulls uniform than a Bulls-inspired Air Jordan? Enough said. This colorway of the XX3 would certainly be proper.

Air Jordan 2 Retro Black/Chrome

Player: Joe Johnson
Team: Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets team colors are very simple and this underrated Air Jordan 2 Retro would pair very well with them. The Air Jordan 2 Retro and Joe Johnson are also familiar with each other as he’s rocked a few PE colorways throughout his career.

Air Jordan XIV 'Indiglo'

Player: Paul George
Team: Indiana Pacers

These Jordans were originally worn by Reggie Miller in 1999. While we all yearn for a retro, it would be dope to see the “Indiglo’s” on the feet of a current Indiana Pacer.

Air Jordan XIX "East Coast"

Player: Paul Millsap
Team: Atlanta Hawks

Originally made to match the New Jersey Nets uniforms of the 2003-04 NBA season, this “East Coast” colorway of the Air Jordan XIX goes perfectly with today’s Atlanta Hawks unis.

Air Jordan 8 Retro Women’s 'Ice Blue'

Player: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Team: Charlotte Bobcats

Yes, they are a women’s colorway and were not very well-received when they dropped. But, you cannot deny how well they go with the final Charlotte Bobcats colors before they go back to the Buzz.

Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Charcoal'

Player: Terrence Ross
Team: Toronto Raptors

We agree that we all have a love/hate relationship with this OG Air Jordan VII colorway being nicknamed/called the “Raptors.” But, it’s pretty obvious how well they match the teams colors.

Air Jordan 6 Retro "Doernbecher"

Player: Otto Porter Jr.
Team: Washington Wizards

The “Doernbecher” Air Jordan 6 Retro may have been inspired by baseball, but it’s still a bball shoe. While we certainly agree this Jordan is not forgotten, it may be overlooked a little just because of its limited nature. But when it comes down to it, it would look great matched up with the Wizards uniforms for this season.

Air Jordan 8 Retro Black/Chrome

Player: Kawhi Leonard
Team: San Antonio Spurs

Sometimes simple is the way to go. This Air Jordan 8 Retro may be plain, but that doesn’t take anything away from how great looking it is. Put it next to a Spurs jersey and you have a perfect match.

Air Jordan 12 Retro 'Cool Grey'

Player: Cody Zeller
Team: Charlotte Bobcats

What more needs to be said? A Charlotte Bobcats player rocking a “Bobcats” themed colorway of the Air Jordan 12 Retro. This colorway was made for this exact reason.

Air Jordan 4 Retro LS 'Mist Blue'

Player: Shawn Marion
Team: Dallas Mavericks

Shawn Marion has been around the block a few times now. As he enters the 2014 NBA Playoffs with the Dallas Mavericks, we wonder what it would be like if he were to rock the ‘Mist Blue’ Air Jordan 4 Retro on-court.

Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Pearl White'

Player: Caron Butler
Team: Oklahoma City Thunder

A colorway of the Air Jordan 7 Retro many people tend to forget all about. Even though it has a pearl white upper, the contrasting colors blend well with OKC’s and would be a nice pair for Caron Butler to lace up for a game or two.

Air Jordan 8 Retro LS 'Anthracite'

Player: Channing Frye
Team: Phoenix Suns

Besides the women’s ‘Ice Blue’ pair, this Air Jordan 8 Retro was near the bottom of the totem pole when they dropped in 2007. But if you put them up next to a Suns jersey, it works.

Air Jordan XIV Low 'Royal'

Player: Andre Iguodala
Team: Golden State Warriors

Another shoe with a poor nickname that was hated on and now loved. Will we ever see these OG XIV Low’s retro? Only time will tell but if they were to come back, on the feet of Iguodala in his Warriors uniform would be a great way to give them the shine they always deserved.

Air Jordan 9 Retro 'Flint'

Player: Courtney Lee
Team: Memphis Grizzlies

The slept-on Jordan 9 Retro ‘Flint Grey’ iteration would match-up perfect when paired with the Grizzlies home white unis. High-flying Courtney Lee could be a solid candidate to bust these out as Memphis currently holds the 8th seed in the West.

Air Jordan 2 Retro White/Black-Varsity Red (Black Midsole)

Player: LaMarcus Aldridge
Team: Portland Trail Blazers

The Air Jordan 2 Retro is returning this year. But, these OGs aren’t. With that being said, it would be nice to see them on-court as they go great with a Blazers jersey. Especially with the black midsole.

Air Jordan 8 Retro "Suns"

Player: Eric Bledsoe
Team: Phoenix Suns

Another recent retro, but they were probably the least-liked release of the year. However, they are known as the “Suns” edition so what better way to see them than on the feet of a Phoenix Suns player, as they are intended. Done and done.

got a pair for paul millsap instead of Melo? Knicks are sitting in the 8th seed right now

    • CCP

Mellow might just wear his own shoes?

      • CCP

        Auto correct lol Melo*

  • Cedhollywood

One thing I’ve seen with Ray Allen and that is he doesn’t need to wear retro AJ that sorta have his team colors. His PE’s always are made to match.

  • DRUMattX

That’s funny! The Laney XIV Lows in that pic have the midsole paint “wrap” peeled off entirely! I’ve done that to the “teeth” on my pair already but not the midsoles…yet.

Ice Blue VIIIs are garbage in general, let alone a WMNS release but Anthracites, Chromes & Suns are all varying degrees of awesome…I still need some Suns for the Low.

French XIIs & Citrus VIIs are classics…shocked how little court time they’ve seen.
