20 Best On-Court Jordan Sneaker Moments Since MJ Retired

mjretired

There have been plenty of dope on-court Jordan sneaker moments since MJ left the game and we highlight 20 of the best beginning with the 2003-04 season. One look at this list and it’s clear Ray Allen has had his fair share of awesome on-court sneaker moments laced up in all kinds of Jordan heat. His two championship Jordan 11 PEs take the cake though and if those were ever to hit retail, the hype would be through the roof! Aside from those 11s, there have been some great 13s worn by some of Jordan Brand’s best, but take a look for yourself and let us know in the comments section below what your favorite on-court Jordan sneaker moment has been.

Air Jordan II "Olympic" PE

Year: 2004
Player: Carmelo Anthony

In the post-MJ NBA, Jordan Brand was obviously reeling and in need of a flagship signature athlete. With LeBron’s ridiculous Nike deal, it was obvious he wouldn’t be it, so JB centered their focus on Carmelo Anthony. In his first few years in the Association, you could catch Melo in some crazy exclusive heat, like these amazing Air Jordan II “Olympic” PEs. Sweet.

Air Jordan XII "Melo" PE

Year: 2004
Player: Carmelo Anthony

Prior to the Melo signature line, you could catch Carmelo rocking some dope PEs on-court, and perhaps none smoother than these banging Air Jordan XIIs. Sure, we got an AJ XII “Melo” drop, and they were nice. But frankly, we’re a little disappointed they didn’t choose to use this exact colorway…could’ve been awesome.

Air Jordan V "CP3"

Year: 2006
Player: Chris Paul

Okay, with his own signature Jordan Brand line, it’s understandable that CP3 doesn’t bring out his Air Jordan PEs more often on court, but come on…he’s got some fire. These Vs that he brought out back in 2005, while a member of the Hornets, are absolutely fantastic.

Air Jordan V "Knicks" Home

Year: 2006
Player: Quentin Richardson

Q Rich is another Jordan Brand athlete that has an unbelievable footwear history. Simply by being on as many teams as Richardson has been on, he’s got a crazy amount of different personalized colorways. These Air Jordan V “Knicks” are crazy.

Air Jordan 8 "Knicks" Away

Year: 2007
Player: Quentin Richardson

Another Q Rich banger, these Air Jordan VIIIs are out of control. We all know Richardson had some super limited VIII PEs drop a while back, but these are the ones JB should’ve released.

Air Jordan V "Seattle" PE

Year: 2007
Player: Ray Allen

These are absolutely killer. Back in Ray’s Seattle Supersonics days, he had some beautiful PEs. These Air Jordan Vs are some of the best we’ve ever seen. And not only did they come in the white “home” color, the black “away” colorway was just as hot.

Air Jordan XI "Championship" PE

Year: 2008
Player: Ray Allen

Oh Ray Ray. We could basically make this list entirely out of times Ray Allen made our shoe closet irrelevant. After coming up on his first NBA chip, JB blessed Mr. Shuttlesworth with these fantastic green/gold XIs. See guys, it DOES pay to be a world-class athlete. We knew it.

Air Jordan XX3 "West" PE

Year: 2008
Player: Chris Paul/Carmelo Anthony

Another fantastic PE colorway that graced the feet of CP3, wasn’t exclusive to just him. Back at the 2008 NBA All-Star game, the West squad was done up with these great Air Jordan XX3 PEs.

Air Jordan 2 "Knicks" Home & Away

Year: 2008
Player: Quentin Richardson

This is another PE we feel that, if released at retail, would go down as one of the best colorways the silo has ever seen…particularly with all the Knicks fans that are also sneakerheads. Whether you like the home or away makeup, you don’t even need to be an NY fan to love these. Easy money.

Air Jordan VIII "Sugar Ray"

Year: 2008
Player: Ray Allen

If you’ve been paying attention long enough, you know we’ve all lusted after Ray’s Air Jordan VIII PEs. These were actually released back in 2009. However, being limited to just 24 pairs, released exclusively at HOH, they’ve been little more than eye candy for most of us ever since. They’re now one of the most expensive Air Jordans ever released.

Air Jordan XII 'Away' PE

Year: 2009
Player: Ray Allen

Ol’ Sugar Ray did it again back in 2009 when he broke out these spectacular AJ XIIs. Even if you’re not a Celtics fan, these XIIs are straight fire.

Air Jordan XII PE Black/Red

Year: 2010
Player: Joe Johnson

Jordan Brand athlete Joe Johnson might not always be among the league’s elite stars or worthy of his giant contract, but his PE game is quite amazing. This black/red Air Jordan XII he rocked back when he played in ATL would absolutely kill at retail. We know we’d cop ’em.

Air Jordan XII 'Michael Finley' PE

Year: 2010
Player: Michael Finley

Another under-the-radar Jordan Brand athlete that people often forget about was Michael Finley, but he certainly had his moments. Even though he donned these XIIs back in 2010 while wearing Celtic green, most of his NBA tenure was spent with the Spurs, which meant his PEs were based off of their basic black/white colorway. No matter, these are fantastic.

Air Jordan XIII 'Ray Allen' PE

Year: 2011
Player: Ray Allen

You can’t have a list of significant post-MJ sneaker moments without including Ray Allen, and his XIII PEs he wore while breaking Reggie Miller’s record for career 3-pointers back in 2011. Lucky for us, we got the chance to pick these beauties up at retail…even if they were crazy-limited.

Air Jordan XIII Black/Royal PE

Year: 2012
Player: Quentin Richardson

Looking back at Quentin Richardson’s Jordan flexing, it’s obvious that he loved the Air Jordan XIII. These gorgeous black/royal blue XIIIs he donned back in 2012 while a member of the Orlando Magic could GET IT!

Air Jordan 13 'Away' PE

Year: 2012
Player: Ray Allen

Sure, we all know the XIIIs Ray Ray wore when breaking the NBA 3-point record. But these ‘Away’ versions are equally, if not more dope.

Air Jordan XI "Two Rings" PE

Year: 2013
Player: Ray Allen

Yep, another Ray Allen entry. This time in 2013, after winning his second ring, he was blessed with these amazing Air Jordan XIs. We all know how gold colored Air Jordans sell at retail nowadays. If Jordan Brand released these awesome kicks, it would be pandemonium!

Air Jordan III "OKC" PE

Year: 2013
Player: Russell Westbrook

When you see Air Jordan PEs, they’re typically of the same silhouettes; XIIs, XIIIs, VIIIs, and post-XIVs. But the AJ III PEs newly-minted JB athlete Russel Westbrook broke out last year, are crazy. The only term that comes to mind is head-turner.

Air Jordan XVI PE Black/White

Year: 2014
Player: Joe Johnson

Likely the most recent player exclusive on this list, these Air Jordan XVI PEs rocked by Joe Johnson in this year’s NBA Playoffs are just perfect. Simple as it may be, we honestly think this is one of, if not, THE dopest Air Jordan XVI we’ve ever seen.

Air Jordan X "OKC" Away

Year: 2014
Player: Russell Westbrook

Though lately he’s been seen rocking the latest and greatest from Jordan Brand’s signature line, from time to time, Russell Westbrook will remind us that it truly pays to be a JB-sponsored athlete. He was hurting feelings with these Air Jordan Xs earlier this year.

Bonus: Jordan XX8

Year: 2012
Player: Russell Westbrook

While this list is packed with retro Jordans, one Jordan moment that sticks out recently is the debut of the Jordan XX8 on-court by Russell Westbrook in early December 2012. The XX8 had its fair share of skeptics and detractors when it was finally debuted, and many were intrigued with how they would look on-court. Would players zip the shroud up or wear it down? That was the question and as we saw, players chose both ways.

    ummm WHERES MIKE BIBBY’s PEs??!!!

    • Kicks Deals

That’s a good call. Some of his best were in the last couple years MJ was still playing, so they weren’t considered based upon feature criteria.

no love for kobes PEs in the early 2000s?

even if it was seasons that MJ was on the wizards… I mean he was on the wizards so it doesn’t really count.
