Ranking The Undefeated x Nike Collaborations

ranking-undftd-nike-collabs-KD

While Undefeated’s list of sneaker collaborations is long and extensive, its partnership with Nike alone has spanned nearly 15 years and produced over 10 makeups.

Looking back at the catalog, it’s easy to see the design wizards at Undefeated are very keen on working with the iconic Air Force 1 model. Over the years, we’ve also seen a few Dunks in the mix and even the Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 found in both “Bring Back” Packs from 2013.

Already this year we have seen a two-pack of the Lunar Force 1 in a high and low-top version. With another Lunar Force 1 collection set to release tomorrow, we take a look back and rank the brand’s complete history with Nike. Feel free to let us know in the comments section below which ranks as your all-time favorite!

13: Undefeated x Nike Air Force 1 'Shemagh Purple '

Year Released: 2005

This is where we first see the Shemagh pattern, a pattern you see on a Middle Eastern headdress, which became popular during the rise of streetwear culture around 2005. There were two colorways that released and each was limited to only 500 pairs.

The second colorway from Undefeated’s two-pack collab debut with the Swoosh, this pair featured the same color blocking in a black & tan iteration.

11: Undefeated x Nike Air Force 1 'Livestrong'

Year Released: 2009

Released as part of the 2009 Livestrong campaign, Undefeated teamed up with Nike on this Air Force 1 in the affiliated black/yellow colorway which featured the ‘Shemagh’ pattern we originally saw on the 2005 AF1. The shoe boasted a leather-wrapped midsole, leather liner and laser etching on the midsole that read “ON YOUR BIKE KID.”

10: Undefeated x Nike Dunk High NL

Year Released: 2005

In 2005, Undefeated teamed up with the Swoosh on the Dunk High NL. The ‘NL’ is a liner-less Dunk, which features an interior stripped of its thick padding to give the shoe a sleeker profile. The bold use of colors and the premium materials used for this release made this a top-notch head turner.

9: Undefeated x Nike Hyperdunk "Bring Back 2003" Olive

Year Released: 2013

Undefeated used their same original ‘Ballistic’ design on the Hyperdunk 2012, which released alongside the highly anticipated Dunk High from this two-pack.

8: Undefeated x Nike Lunar Force 1 High 'Red Suede'

Year Released: 2014

Dropping alongside the Lunar Force 1 Low earlier this year, this all-red hairy suede build, with a speckled Lunar midosle and red & white ‘Shemagh’ print ankle strap, made this pair a fan favorite for sure.

7: Undefeated x Nike Lunar Force 1 Low 'Black Shemagh'

Year Released: 2014

Also releasing in the earlier part of this year at the same time as the Lunar Force 1 High was a low-top iteration which featured the go-to ‘Shemagh’ pattern on the entire upper of the shoe. And one of our favorite parts of the sneaker has to be the use of a Lunarlon sole once again. Keeping the iconic heritage of the AF1, this new model is lighter in weight while still accounting for maximum comfort.

6: Undefeated x Entourage x Nike Air Force 1 "Fukijama" Gold

Year Released: 2009 (Unreleased to the public)

If you’re a fan of the show “Entourage,” then you know all about these. After striking out on a pair of Fukijama-designed Nike Air Force 1 Lows at Undefeated’s Santa Monica location (on the show), Turtle was later blessed with a laser-etched, white and gold 1-of-1 pair that also came with a special wooden box. In the summer of 2009, an almost exact reproduced pair of the iteration from the show popped up and a lucky few even managed to get their hands on ’em.

5: Undefeated x Nike Hyperdunk "Bring Back" White/Gum

Year Released: 2013

As part of the “Bring Back” pack along with a Dunk High, the same minimalistic color blocking is utilized on this release, which we think looks great on the Hyperdunk model. On or off the court, a mix of white and gum will always go down as a clean look.

4: Undefeated x Entourage x Nike Air Force 1 "Fukijama" White/Light Blue

Year Released: 2006 (Unreleased to the public)

What originally caused fictional character Fukijama to produce the so-called 1-of-1 laser-etched ‘gold’ Nike Air Force 1 Low was the fact that Turtle missed out on this UNDFTD x Nike AF1 release at Undefeated. If you remember correctly, famed sneakerhead DJ AM secured the last pair on the episode that Turtle was hoping to buy. While not officially released to the public, this makeup does feature it’s own laser etching on the heel and Undefeated’s logo on the tongue, a select amount of pairs have made their way into the wild and in the hands of a chosen few.

3: Undefeated x Nike Dunk Low "Splatter "

Year Released: 2002 (Unreleased to the public)

Among some of the rarest Dunks out there is this unreleased Dunk Low, which was only produced in 24 pairs and not available to the public. This Dunk sports a leather build which features a burgundy and grey upper, along with blue splatter across the burgundy, an off-white midsole and a pink Nike Swoosh to set it off.

On a side note, a similar version of this Dunk was released around the same time by Nike featuring a navy & grey upper with the same ‘splatter’ pattern, but with a red Swoosh. It has been said that they were designed by Undefeated as well, but not labeled as an official collaboration.

2: Undefeated x Nike Dunk High "Bring Back" White/Gum

Year Released: 2013

This clean white/gum Nike Dunk High makeup was originally produced in 2001 and limited to just 24 pairs for friends & family of the 5 strikes. In 2013, to the unexpected delight of many, fans were finally afforded an opportunity to go after these Dunks as Undefeated released them alongside a Hyperdunk 2012 model as part of the “Bring Back” Pack.

1: Undefeated x Nike Dunk High "Bring Back 2003" Olive

Year Released: 2013

This particular makeup was originally released as a “Friends & Family” shoe, but this one saw a whopping 48 pairs produced in the early 2000s. Our top pick for the best Undefeated x Nike collab, this military-inspired Nike Dunk High features an olive-colored suede upper combined with ballistic mesh, a black Swoosh and the iconic 5 Strikes logo on both the heel and tongue. This release for the public to consume was another unexpected one from Undefeated, but devout fans sure were happy to have a chance at these.
