25 Awesome Jordans That Haven’t Been Retro’ed in Over 10 Years


While many fan-favorite Jordans hit the retro release calendar each year, there are plenty of awesome ones we haven’t seen come back around for a little while.

For big Jordan heads, we’re sure more than a few are keeping tabs on any number of makeups inside this spotlight, just pining at the chance to own a new pair. And with the ‘Remastered’ editions starting to roll out next year, chances are good that if some of these do come back, quality might just be exactly like the pair you currently own.

Air Jordan 12 Retro White/Flint Grey

Year Released: 2003

This Air Jordan 12 Retro comes in a clean white and flint grey colorway. They were the third AJ12 release back in 2003. While we have seen numerous XIIs release since then, this pair has yet to be re-released.

Air Jordan I Retro+ White/Silver-Navy

Year Released: 2001

The first new colorway of the Air Jordan I since 1986, outside of the Japan exclusives, this pair came in a clean white, metallic silver and midnight navy colorway. They were also the first AJ1 to feature ‘Jumpman’ branding. Originally released in 2001, we have seen some different variations of this colorway, however, they have yet to return exactly the same way.

Air Jordan 2 Retro Black/Chrome

Year Released: 2004

This Air Jordan 2 Retro came in a clean black and chrome colorway. Originally released in 2004, they sport a black-based upper with chrome detailing. While they initially were not in high demand upon release, today they are becoming very sought after.

Air Jordan 4 Retro+ "Bling, Bling"

Year Released: 2000

While a white and metallic silver colorway of the AJ4 was released in 2006 and then again in 2010, this “Bling, Bling” edition has yet to return. Originally released in 2000, this Retro+ edition featured chrome accents along with perforations in place of the traditional mesh throughout the upper.

Air Jordan 3 Retro 'Mocha'

Year Released: 2001

A love/hate colorway, this Air Jordan 3 Retro was highly slept on in 2001. People just weren’t a fan of the ‘Mochas’ back then, but nowadays they have become highly sought after.

Air Jordan 6 Retro+ White/Navy

Year Released: 2000

This AJ6 was the first new colorway since the model was originally released in 1991. They were also the first to feature ‘Jumpman’ branding in place of ‘Nike Air.’ When the Air Jordan 6 Retro returned in 2014, many were hoping we would see these return. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Air Jordan 8 Retro Black/Chrome

Year Released: 2003

A precursor to the black/chrome AJ2 Retro of 2004, this Air Jordan 8 Retro was the second AJ8 release of 2003. The clean black-based upper with chrome accents made these a must have. A colorway many people hope gets re-released…one day.

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low White/Red

Year Released: 2001

The Air Jordan 11 Retro Low made its debut in 2001. Originally an ‘IE’ version was released, which featured a different design on the upper. This retro kept the OG design, and just lowered it. In 2012 we got an AJ11 Low in a similar colorway, however, the placement of red was in different parts of either release.

Air Jordan 12 Retro White/French Blue

Year Released: 2004

Originally themed around the “Washington Wizards” after MJ was fired from the team, this ‘French Blue’ colorway was switched around a little, to the pair we are all familiar with today. Similar to the white and flint grey colorway, this pair features a white-based upper with blue accents, finished off by small hits of silver and red. They dropped in January of 2004 and haven’t been seen since.

Air Jordan 2 Retro "Melo"

Year Released: 2004

Known as the “Melo” edition, this Air Jordan 2 Retro was a limited release in 2004. A PE edition, without the “Melo” branding, they come in a Nuggets-themed white, university blue and maize colorway.

Air Jordan 6 Retro Low White/University Blue

Year Released: 2002

This was one of three colorways of the Air Jordan 6 Retro Low released in 2002 and it marked the first time the AJ6 was converted into low top. While its rumored the black and silver colorway will return in 2015, this white and university blue pair remains unseen for more than a decade.

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low 'Columbia'

Year Released: 2001

The ‘Columbia’ AJ11 Retro Low dropped alongside the white and red pair in 2001. Such a clean colorway, and highly coveted, they have yet to return for another round on retail shelves.

Air Jordan 13 Retro 'Wheat'

Year Released: 2004

The ‘Wheat’ Air Jordan 13 Retro was the first XIII release of 2004. A clean colorway, they feature a white-based upper with wheat accents. While not a popular colorway in the eyes of many, this AJ13 still has its fair share of supporters…especially if you love white Js.

Air Jordan 9 Retro White/Flint Grey

Year Released: 2002

The third retro of the AJ9 in 2002 introduced this all-new white, french blue and flint grey colorway. They feature a white-based leather upper with flint grey accents, complemented by small hits of blue.

Air Jordan 4 Retro White/Green

Year Released: 2004

When the AJ4 made its return in 2004, this white and green colorway was the first pair released. They feature a white-based leather upper with green tabs and a chrome ‘Jumpman’ on the back heel.

Air Jordan 2 Retro Low 'Navy'

Year Released: 2004

This was the second Air Jordan 2 Retro Low released in 2004. They came in an all-new white, navy and university blue colorway, replacing the traditional black and red accents with different shades of blue. While the AJ2 Retro has been re-released, the low top has not returned.

Air Jordan 9 Retro Low 'Blue Pearl'

Year Released: 2002

The second and final Air Jordan 9 Retro Low released in 2002. Known as the ‘Blue Pearl’ edition, they feature a white-based upper with both blue pearl and university blue accents.

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low White/Zen Grey

Year Released: 2001

Can’t beat all white! This limited AJ11 Low release in 2001 was a perfect summer release, as long as you could get your hands on them. While we did see the “Silver Anniversary” high top drop in 2010, the all-white theme has not returned to the low, since their original release in 2001.

Air Jordan 8 Retro Low White/Chrome

Year Released: 2003

Following in the footsteps of the AJ6, the Air Jordan 8 Retro debuted as a low top in 2003. This white and chrome pair was the first colorway released. A unique feature on the low tops is that there is only one strap, as opposed to two on the regular version.

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low IE 'Cobalt'

Year Released: 2003

The Air Jordan 11 Low, in its original ‘IE’ form, returned for the first time in 2003. Both OG colorways were retro’ed. And while the black and red pair was re-released, this ‘Cobalt’ pair has not been seen since 2003.

Air Jordan 12 Retro Low 'Obsidian'

Year Released: 2004

Just a couple years ago in 2012 came the highly anticipated return of the ‘Obsidian’ AJ12 in original form, however, that wasn’t the first retro of this OG colorway. Back in 2004 marked the debut in low top, a first for the AJ12, and the last time we saw this OG colorway in that way.

Air Jordan 9 Retro Low White/Chrome

Year Released: 2002

The AJ9 made its debut in low-top form in 2002. This white and chrome colorway, which dropped in the summertime, was the first of two colorways released. Since their debut, the Air Jordan 9 Retro Low has yet to return.

Air Jordan 12 Retro "UNC"

Year Released: 2004

After debuting in women’s sizes, Jordan Brand blessed the men with a limited drop of this “UNC” Air Jordan 12 Retro in 2004. Also known as the “Melo” edition, they feature a white-based upper, sitting atop a university blue-colored outsole.

Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Cool Grey'

Year Released: 2004

Highly sought after today, the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan 4 Retro was the second and final AJ4 released in 2004. This clean colorway is a pair people have been hoping will be re-released…one day. Fingers crossed for a remastered version!

Air Jordan 11 Retro Low 'Snakeskin' Navy

Year Released: 2001

Along with patent leather, the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low also released featuring faux snakeskin. In 2014, ‘Snakeskin’ returned to the AJ11 Low, however, this 2001 release did not return.
