Andre Johnson
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Andre Johnson has been Team Jordan for a while now, so you know he’s got some fire hanging in the old foot locker. These white/red XIIs, from last season, are just the latest and greatest. Excellent.
Ahman Green
Cleat: Jordan 6 Low
Year: 2007
If you’re not a big Packers fan (or a fan of a division rival), it’s easy to forget that RB Ahman Green had a career, outside of the green and yellow. However, these dope VI Lows might help you recall a time when he laced them up for the Houston Texans in 2007. The VI is one of our favorite low top Js, and the color fade on the spikes is a nice touch on a clean colorway.
Charles Woodson
Cleat: Jordan 12 Low
Year: 2013
Despite what you may think of the Oakland Raiders, Charles Woodson has had an enviable career in the league, for a number of reasons. But, these fantastic XII PEs are yet another reason to be green. The low top XII is sooo underrated and, for a Defensive Back, it’s a great shoe. The only question left is, which colorway do you prefer?
Deion Sanders
Cleat: Jordan 11
Year: 2001
We all know Primetime was one of the best athletes to ever grace the football (or baseball) field…and he had the Air Jordan PEs to back that up. Alongside some amazing baseball cleats, Neon Deion also rocked these fantastic Redskins-themed Air Jordan XI PEs. Sporting both high-top and low-top silos, he also sported them with cleated and turf outsoles. These are just gorgeous.
Charles Woodson
Cleat: Jordan 9
Year: 2002
Woodson’s fantastic Jordans didn’t stop with amazing XIIs. He’s also had some pretty dope AJ IXs too. Check these white and black patent leather bangers from 2002. HEAT!
Dez Bryant
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Dez Bryant has been turning heads and inspiring discussion on and off the field, since he was drafted by the Cowboys in 2010. But one thing that hasn’t been talked about enough is his excellent Jordan PEs. Both varieties of Air Jordan XIIs he brought out last year are excellent. Here’s hoping to see him take his game – both sneakers and football – to an even greater level this season.
Donovan McNabb
Cleat: Jordan 11
Year: 2001
Perhaps it’s because he never took home a chip, or maybe it’s just the harsh Philly sports scene, but we feel like Donovan McNabb was one of the more underrated players of his era. And his sneaker game wasn’t bad either. Check these awesome Air Jordan XIs he sported in 2001. We’re really feeling the green and gold on them. These are gorgeous.
Dwight Freeney
Cleat: Jordan 3
Year: 2011
Though not often mentioned in discussions of players with the greatest PEs, Dwight Freeny has got some absolute bangers up his sleeve. These black/blue Air Jordan IIIs, from back in his Indianapolis Colts days, are amazing.
Earl Thomas
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Earl Thomas is one of the NFL’s biggest and brightest emerging stars. Which is why Jordan Brand laced him with these crazy Air Jordan XII PEs last year, to match his loud style of play. Considering Thomas and the Seahawks’ defensive performance in Super Bowl XLVIII, JB should think about adding some more gold to next year’s PEs.
Hakeem Nicks
Cleat: Jordan 9
Year: 2012
Being an North Carolina guy through and through really has it’s benefits. Particularly when you’re a gifted athlete like Hakeem Nicks. After tearing up the ACC while at UNC, Nicks signed with JB early in his career, and has had some excellent PEs to his resume. Some of our favorites are these sweet Air Jordan IXs from 2012. The combo of the Cool Grey upper, paired with the Giants-friendly blue and red have us feeling all patriotic. These are dope.
Donovan McNabb
Cleat: Jordan 9
Year: 2002
It wasn’t just head-turning XIs that McNabb rocked. He followed up the next year with these fantastic Air Jordan IXs. We’re loving the patent leather and clear turf outsole. Guess it really pays to be a great athlete, huh?
Dwight Freeney
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Even though he could still rock those dope black/blue Air Jordan IIIs when Freeney made the switch to the Chargers and their Powder Blue last year, JB blessed him with some awesome XIIs. We wouldn’t expect this combo to work so well, but we love the use of the dark blue nubuck paired with the bright powder blue outsole.
Jason Taylor
Cleat: Jordan 3
Year: 2008
When you look back at Jason Taylor’s career, his tremendous play on-field is what stands out. What might not translate though, was his dope sneaker game. Taylor got laced in all kinds of crazy Jordan PEs, like these tremendous Air Jordan IIIs he rocked back when he was with the Redskins. We know black and yellow aren’t for everyone…but these are just great.
Hakeem Nicks
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Not to be outdone by his 2012 campaign, JB laced Hakeem Nicks with these beautiful Air Jordan XIIs in 2013. Wonder what they’ll cook up for him this year as he’s now a member of the Colt?
Lamarr Woodley
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Speaking of black and yellow, perhaps no team is more associated with that combo than the Pittsburgh Steelers. And last year, while all the JB athletes were getting set up with awesome Air Jordan XII PEs, LB Lamarr Woodley got blessed with these bangers. We’re really feeling these, particularly the gold eyelets.
Marvin Harrison
Cleat: Jordan 3 Low
Year: 2008
Very similar to Colts teammate Dwight Freeney’s black/blue IIIs, WR Marvin Harrison got the slimmed-down low top version of these awesome PEs. And even though we’ve never seen a low top III hit retail, these have got the old wheels turning, thinking of what could have been.
Michael Crabtree
Cleat: Jordan 9 Low
Year: 2012
Michael Crabtree has had a relatively short, yet prominent NFL career, to this point. And his sneakers have been head-turners! Just check these dope Air Jordan IX Lows. Amazing. These are actually one of our favorites ever!
Randy Moss
Cleat: Jordan 11
Year: 2001
Look, it’s obvious that, like the rest of you, we’re suckers for a solid Air Jordan XI colorway. But, Randy Moss’s turf PEs, from around 2001 are just some of the best non-hoops PEs of all time. There, we said it. We just love the combo of purple and gold on the XI…and that clear turf outsole and large heel tabs are nice touches as well.
Terrell Owens
Cleat: Jordan 14
Year: 2005
As we’ve said here before, career longevity and switching teams often does have it’s benefits. One of the biggest being the wide variety of PE colorways you get hooked up with. Just check these dope Air Jordans XIVs, done up for the one and only Terrell Owens, when he was with the Eagles.
Michael Crabtree
Cleat: Jordan 12
Year: 2013
Even though we don’t like 2013s Air Jordan XII PEs as much as 2012’s IX Lows, they’re still fantastic. We love how the gold outsole offsets the relatively patent red upper. KING CRAB!
Randy Moss
Cleat: Jordan 9
Year: 2002
More dope Air Jordan PEs from the closet of Randy Moss are these excellent Air Jordan IXs from 2002. Again, purple patent leather is really offset well with gold/yellow trim. Jordan hooked Moss up with both turf and cleated versions of this PE.
Terrell Owens
Cleat: Jordan 6
Year: 2007
More Jordan PE heat from Terrell Owens as these Air Jordan VIs are from his days with the Dallas Cowboys and they’re easily one of the cleanest we’ve seen.
Warren Sapp
Cleat: Jordan 6
Year: 2007
Look back and check the tape, because Warren Sapp had some of the best PEs in the history of the NFL. With the sheer amount of awesome PEs floating around out there, it’s hard to just pick a few. But one of our favorites are these wild white/silver turf Air Jordan VIs he sported while with the Raiders.
Andre Johnson
Cleat: Jordan 9
Year: 2012
These dope Jordan IX PEs were made up for Andre Johnson for his Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions in 2012. As fresh as these are, Johnson was even better in the game as he finished with 9 receptions for 188 yards.
Terrell Owens
Cleat: Jordan 3
Year: 2010 and 2012
You get hit with a double dip of PE goodness from TO with this entry. From his days with the Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, Owens was laced up with some of the wilder Air Jordan IIIs we’ve ever seen. These are crazy!
Warren Sapp
Cleat: Jordan 11
Year: 2007
If you thought Sapp’s VIs were dope, just check out his amazing “Space Jam” Air Jordan XI PEs. Okay, so they’re not really “Space Jams.” Really more of a “Black Out” XI…but still, these are FIRE!
Terrell Owens
Cleat: Jordan 6
Year: 2008
TO wore these ‘silver/chrome’ Jordan VI PEs for the 2008 Pro Bowl and they feature dark royal blue laces and inside lining to match NFC colors. The cleats on the bottom also boast a royal-to-chrome gradient effect.
Earl Thomas
Cleat: Jordan 6
Year: 2014
Very similar the general release white/black Jordan 6 Retro TD cleats you can buy now, these Earl Thomas PEs feature a metallic lime cleated outsole to match his Seahawks unis of course. You could find Thomas wearing these jewels in the playoffs this past season.
Terrell Owens
Cleat: Jordan 3
Year: 2012
One of the most beloved Air Jordans of all time converted to a football cleat? Man, Terrell Owens is one lucky individual! TO was spotted wearing these in practice while attempting a comeback in 2012 with the Seahawks. It’s too bad he didn’t make it out of training camp as who knows what Jordan would’ve cooked up for him during the season.
Earl Thomas
Cleat: Jordan 6
Year: 2014
Jordan Brand laced Earl Thomas with these special Jordan 6 PEs for last season’s Super Bowl against the Broncos. And just like the Seahawks D stood out in the big win, these cleats were certainly head turners with a very loud color scheme. These once again featured a metallic lime cleated outsole, as well as Thomas’ #29 stitched on the heel and the neoprene lace lockdown.
